FHE Tonight! Fishers of Men

Fishers of Men FHE LessonFor FHE tonight review the story of Jesus calling his apostles. Many were fisherman by profession. When Jesus asked them to leave this all behind and join Him in His ministry, “they straightway left their nets, and followed him.” (Matthew 4:18). You can review the scripture story and select verses from Matthew 4.

There’s a great little video clip that tells this Bible story. (video HERE). Ask your family what they think it means to be a “Fisher of Men,” and then watch the video.

Fishers of Men 2To be a “fisher of men,” we must be willing to put anything aside (including our fear!) to reach out in service and love to those around us and share the good news of the gospel!

Fishers of Men 3We have included a printable with simple ideas of how to reach out and share the gospel. Print out these little fish (we printed ours on the back of scrapbook paper cut to size). Cut them out and attach paper clips. Using a magnet attached to a string, take turns “fishing” and discussing the different ideas. We’ve also included a blank sheet of fishes so you can fill in your own ideas that would suit your family. If you don’t have time or materials handy, you could opt to hide your fish around the room or house and have family members search for the fish instead.

We can all be missionaries now!
